Our dramatic New Mexico skies have a huge presence and the clouds and sunsets can be surreal. Many times I've thought I could paint a sky exactly as it is, but most everyone would think the colors were false. In the summer season it's exciting when the thunderheads build up and the late afternoon storms darken the sky. Love it when the sky is darker than the land.
