Kay Marcotte Art
Artistic inspiration in two latitudes… I have lived in both The North Country and the American Southwest. The light and climate are different, but unique colors, textures, and designs are discovered within each geography. We can appreciate the desert earth tones viewed through dry air with intense sunlight. Northern light, viewed at oblique angles, helps us appreciate subtle shadows and a softer color palette.
My paintings are from my own photographs or plein air and inspired by Minnesota and New Mexico landscapes and garden forms.
